クラスで自信を持つ❕
It’s very important at the beginning of the school year that students feel confident in themselves. We know that some of them are still shy to express their thoughts in English and move their bodies freely, that’s why we are trying to build it now.
新学期の初めに自信を持つのは大切な事です。 自分の考えを英語で表現したり、体を自由に動かしたりするのが恥ずかしかったりする子もいるので私たちは手助けをしていきたいと思います
It’s been two weeks now, and we are very happy to see how each of our students get more active and confident in doing things in Canyon class even if some of those are new to them.
2週間が経ちました。クラスに慣れていない子もいますが、皆それぞれ積極的に自信を持ってどのようにクラスで物事を行っていけるかを見れてとても嬉しく思っています。
In our morning circle time, we call each student to get the picture of their answer to the question given by the teacher and let them say it in complete sentence. We practice saying sentences such as Today is April 16 (date)., The season is Spring (season)., Today’s weather is sunny (weather). We also have a dance exercise in the morning. At first a few of them were just standing and watching us while doing the exercise, so the next few days I decided to practice the movements with them before doing it with the music. I am delighted now seeing all of them started to move along with the music! They finally conquered the Canyon’s dance floor!😉
朝のサークルでは、1人1人に声を掛けて、先生からの質問に対し、写真を選んで取り、英語で答えてもらっています。 今日は4月16日（日付）、季節は春（季節）、今日の天気は晴れ（天気）などの文章を練習します。 午前中はダンスエクササイズもしています。 最初は立って私たちを見ているだけでしたが、何日かは音楽を聴いて練習する前に一緒に動く練習をしてみました。 全員が音楽に合わせて動けるようになったのを見て嬉しく思います。今では全員がダンスをできるようになりましましたよ。
This week, for the first time Canyon students had UOI lessons with the Unit 1 theme Who We Are, Central Idea (CI) We can be the same and different, and Line of Inquiry (LOI) Our bodies look different from others. Words “same” and “different” are going to be the most used words in this unit so it’s very important that they know their meaning. We used toy blocks in identifying which are the same and different. Blue and blue, blue and red, are they the same or different? They tried saying They are the same. They are different. The next day, we used picture cards and let them choose one, and put it in the right column whether it is the same or different. Seemed that everyone now understood the meaning of those words. Well done!👋
今週、クラスで初めて、ユニット1をテーマにしたUOIレッスンを受けました。私たちは誰なのか？中心的なアイデア（CI）私たちは同じで異なる。（LOI）私たちの体は他の人とは異なります。 「同じ」と「異なる」という言葉がこの単元で最もよく使われる言葉になるので、それらがそれらの意味を知っていることが非常に重要になります。 おもちゃのブロックを使用して、同じものと異なるものを識別しました。 青と青、青と赤、それらは同じですか？それとも異なりますか？”Same”、 “Different”と皆で考えて発言してみました。次の日、絵を選んでもらい、same,differentを右の欄に入れました。 今では誰もが言葉の意味を理解できるようになりました。みんなとてもよく 頑張りました！
Since we’ll talk about their bodies in LOI1, we prepared an activity for students to color their face parts by looking at the mirror. It was easier for the students to imagine what’s the real color of their face parts because they were looking at the mirror and looking at the sketch of their real photo. It’s funny to see them blinking their eyes and pouting while making sure of its color. Everyone did a great job in this activity!👏
LOI1では体の話をするので、自分たちによく似た似顔絵を用意し、鏡を見ながら似顔絵の顔の部分にそれぞれ色を塗ってみました。鏡を見ながらなので
自分の顔の色が何色かを想像し易かったみたいです。 色を確認しながらまばたきをしたり、ふくれっ面をしたりするのは面白かったです。みんなとてもいい経験をしました！👏
Our boys and girls had fun watching the video of Simon Says, Parts of the Body song. Then we tried dancing with the song, too. It was a perfect dance song for our kids to learn parts of the body while exercising. We also played Simon Says game wherein the teacher acted as Simon and gave command to the students. Upon playing it, we got to compare our body parts to our friends. We have similarities to our friends like having two eyes, ears, hands, and feet .We also found out our differences like our hair color (black and brownish) hair length (short and long) and skin color.
「 Simon Says, Parts of the Body song 」という体の部分の歌のビデオも見ました。ビデオを見た後に、みんなでその歌で踊ってみました。 子どもたちが運動しながら体の部位を覚えるのに最適なダンスソングでした。 また、Ms.Fronielynがサイモンを演じてみんなに命令を与える、というサイモンセイズゲームもしました。 ゲームをしながら、自分とお友達の体の部位を比べました。 目、耳、手、足が2つあるなど、友達と「同じ」ことを発見しました。また、髪の色（黒と茶色がかった）、髪の長さ（短いと長い）、肌の色など、「異なる」ことがあることもわかりました。
Canyon students had Music lessons too. One of the activities they did was also about body parts! They run according to the tempo of the music, and when it stops they have to put the colored cards on the body part to be called out by the teacher. That was so interesting!🎵💖
音楽のレッスンも受けました。 活動の1つには、 音楽のテンポに添って走り、音楽が止まった時先生指示された体の部分に自分たちの持っているカードをかざす。とゆうレッスンでした。 とても面白かったです！🎵💖
Tuesday, they made a Spring themed craft. Every time we are talking about the season, they always want to see the cherry blossom tree in front of the school, so we decided to make one. We let them make their own tree layout by just providing them the tree trunk and branches using brown colored paper. They glued those tree parts on the paper plate. For the flowers, they crumpled a pink flower paper and pasted it all over the tree branches. They were so amazed after seeing their own version of cherry blossom tree!🌸😍
火曜日、春をテーマにした工作をしました。 季節の話をする度に、園の前に咲いている桜をいつも見たいと思っていたので、作ることにしました。 茶色の画用紙で作った木の幹や枝をそれぞれ思い思いレイアウトし、紙皿に糊で付けました。 花びらはピンクの花紙をくしゃくしゃにして木の枝全体に貼り付けました。出来上がった 自分たちの桜の木を見てびっくりしていましたよ！🌸😍
In Phonics, we learned about the uppercase letter A. We reviewed the sound it makes and words that begin with the letter A sound such as apple🍎, ant🐜, alligator🐊, arrow🏹, anchor🔱, and axe🪓. They also colored those pictures in a worksheet.✔
フォニックスでは、大文字のAについて学びました。Aが発する音と、Aの文字で始まる単語（apple🍎、ant🐜、alligator🐊、arrow🏹、anchor🔱、axe🪓など）を確認しました。 また、それらの絵に色を付けました。
For writing practice, Canyon practiced tracing the uppercase letter A using a pencil. We are teaching them the proper way of holding a pencil. So far, they are doing good👍 and they’ll keep practicing!
書く練習のために、鉛筆を使って大文字のAをなぞる練習をしました。 鉛筆の正しい持ち方を伝えています。 皆上手にやっています👍そしてこれからも練習していきますね！
Canyon class had a chance to play at the park closest to the school. Our boys and girls enjoyed playing on the playground equipment. There’s a long slide, swing, and climbing structure. We’ll go to this park every Mondays by bus.🚌 We also took a short walk🚶♂️on the bridge near the school. Went back to school and play around!
クラスでは園から近い公園へバスで出かけました。 長い滑り台、スイング、ジャングルジムなどの遊具がありとても喜んで遊びました。 これから毎週月曜日にはバスでこの公園に行きます。又別の日には園の近くの橋までお散歩してきました。
Finally, we went to the gym and had so much fun doing the activities taught by our instructor! We did some stretching exercises, run back and forth, and enjoyed the exciting hula-hoop activities. They pretended to drive a bus, clean the floor using a vacuum cleaner, and jumped in and out of the hoops.⭕
Canyonさんになって初めてのジムレッスンにも行きました。ジムの先生に色々なアクテビティを教えてもらい、楽しい時間を過ごしました。準備体操をした後、体育館の端から端までかっけっこをして、その後フラフープを使ってエクササイズをしました。フラフープを持って、バスの運転手さんのように運転したり、掃除機のように床を這わせたり、フープの中にジャンプして入ったり、外に出たりしました。
