Rainforest’s new unit of inquiry is all about the Arts. So we have been learning about the various forms of art and we played a mime game in which the children had to silently act out a character, animal or action like playing sport.
We read stories and talked about what emotions the characters were experiencing in the story and what feelings the students had from reading it and looking at the pictures.
In math we are continuing to learn about place value and have started adding larger numbers like 123+24. We are using blocks that represent one hundred, tens and ones. In spelling and phonics we are still learning to identify rhyming words such as -ock: clock, sock, rock etc.
As many people have started getting sick I would like to ask the parents to remind their children to bring a hand towel to school AND if they are sick, please, keep them at home. On Thursday we only had 7 children in class because students are catching chicken pox, fever and stomach infections.
