今週のRainforestでは、Grade 1のお兄さん、お姉さんにインタビューをしました！Milky Wayのお友達とペアになってなって、Grade 1の生徒に好きな色、食べ物、兄弟姉妹などの情報を聞き、答えをGrade1の生徒に綴りを手伝ってもらいながら書きました。
その後、それぞれがGrade 1について学んだことを発表すると、青と赤が人気の色だったり、多くの生徒がカレーが大好きだったり、猫を飼っている生徒が犬を飼っている生徒より多いことを知ったりと、多くの発見がありました。
自分自身と比較して、”She likes blue but I like green.” “He has a brother and so do I.” と、同じこと・似ていること・異なっていることをカードに書いて表現することができました。カードには、みんなの書いた可愛いGrade1の似顔絵があります。
また、算数の要素を含めて、そのデータの棒グラフを作成しました。新しいことを発見できた楽しい一週間でした！
This week Rainforest and Milky Way students interviewed a grade 1 student to find out more about them as part of our IB unit “Who We Are”. Rainforest and Milky Way knew some of the grade 1 students quite well, however for some of them it was a chance to meet students they didn’t know very much about.
From our interviews we gathered some data and made a bar graph about our findings. It seems red and blue are the most popular colours for grade 1 students, Japanese curry was by far the most popular food. Not many students had pets but cats were more common than dogs and having 1 brother was a little bit more common than 1 sister or 2 brother.
