Savanna: How I Can Help at Home_June 10-14

Savanna was asked if they help at home. Our quick survey revealed that a few Savanna students said they do help at home. “I play with my baby brother. I help wash the dishes. I wash the car!” Our inquiry into our roles and jobs prompted us to think harder. What else can we do at home? We need to keep our homes clean and tidy, just like in school. Using picture cards, Savanna gathered more ideas.

We can do more!” Someone said. We can help our families – take out the trash, water the plants, cook, and wipe the table. Each student practised wiping the table. Now, it is part of our regular routine to wipe the table after meals. Good start, Savanna! To document our thinking, we select at least 2 ways we can help at home. We picked cut-out pictures and pasted them on a worksheet. We drew our ideas too. Copies of our plans will be sent home. So dear families, please support your children at home as they try to help! Thank you.

For our walk this week, we ventured towards the nearby rice fields. The class has been interested in planting. We have noticed rice farms in Shimauchi and decided to take a closer look. We were rewarded with sightings of tadpoles! Oh, I can see them! Look, they are moving! What are these? They become frogs? They look like moyashi (bean sprouts)! What interesting wonderings, Savanna! Looks like this rice field route will be part of our regular walk. We spotted the Alps Park Observatory from the rice farm too!

To all our dear fathers, Happy Father’s Day! Your child has prepared a little dance with you. Enjoy! Till next Monday, have a fabulous weekend.
