ISN Elementary Class is having a lot of joy asking questions and searching for the answers. Our IB unit “Where we are in place and time” focuses on 2 important questions: “What can we learn from the past?” and “How is the past related to the present?”
Over the past 3 weeks we have been reading and researching information about famous people. From tennis players to scientists, from the most courageous to the most caring, Elementary students have found this task is like going on an amazing adventure. With each famous person there is a story to investigate: pictures to view, facts to think about, and goals to appreciate. We have also been considering the attitudes that have helped each famous person reach their amazing goals.
For homework this week each student has chosen a famous person and then researched facts about that person. It is fun choosing only what we think is interesting and important. Students then share the information they have chosen with the rest of the class.
During art we have been investigating what makes a good poster. We use colour, shape and pictures to communicate our ideas. This week our posters tell our audience about the famous people we have chosen.
