This week in Shooting Star, we shared both sad and happy moments.
First of all, we would like to thank all the parents who came to the swimming open days.
I hope you enjoyed watching them swimming happily and trying to jump into the water with excitement and even fear.
The children behaved very well at the pool even though they usually get too excited to have their parents.
Good job Shooting Star!
On Tuesday we all felt sad to say farewell to our friend, Naho.
Naho has brought happiness and joy whenever she was there in Shooting Star.
We made a very pretty Hand Print wall paper with Ms. Bon and scrap book full of memories with Ms. Sayo.
Some students even cried at the end when we had to say goodbye to her.
Thank you, Naho, and we all hope that you will enjoy your life ahead with that cute shiny smiles!
The other happy and exciting time we had on Tuesday was walking to the park.
Although it was our first time walking to the near by park, we good job keeping the rules on streets and walking nicely!
The teachers were very proud of them for being careful with the cars coming from back and front and unexpected gutters at our feet.
In the phonics lesson, we learned about the relationship of the long vowels and a sneaky e.
Please see the explanation in the picture below.
The work of the sneaky e is to scare the vowel to say its long sound.
So all the vowels followed by any consonants AND sneaky e have long sound, not short sound.
The words of the week are;
For the music lesson, a new song was introduced.
The rhythm and the way we move our fingers look very challenging this time!

今週のシューティングスターは楽しい時間も悲しい時間もみんな一緒に共有できた１週間でした。
月曜日にはスイミングオープンデーの最終日ということで、先週と今週子どもたちの様子を見にお越しいただきありがとうございました。
楽しそうに泳ぐ姿や、怖いけれど頑張って水の中に飛び込む姿など、みんなの頑張りを見ていただけたと思います。
お母さんたちが来ているにも関わらず、興奮しすぎることなく落ち着いてレッスンをできた子どもたちもとても偉かったですね！
火曜日は、普段行くことのない公園まで歩いて行ってみました！
シューティングスターになってから初めての試み。先生も子どもたちもドキドキでしたが、みんな道路での決まりを守って、公園とスクールの道のりをしっかりと歩けていました。
前や後ろから来る車に気づき、お互いに声をかけながら止まっては歩きを繰り返し、思いがけないところにある側溝に目を向けて気を付けることもできました。
帰りに会では、その日をもって退園するお友達のお別れ会が行われました。
オーロラの時からいつも、明るく元気でクラスに幸せをいっぱい運んでくれてきたなほちゃん。これからもその素敵な笑顔で幸せに、周りのお友達を幸せにしてあげてね！
帰り際には別れが悲しくて泣くお友達も数人いました。これからもお友達思いのみんなでいましょうね。
フォニックスのレッスンでは、母音と無音Eの関係性について学びました。
写真にあるように、無音Eは前にいる母音に気づかれないよう音を立てずに母音の後ろの子音まで回ってきて、母音を驚かします！
驚いた母音は、長母音の音（a エイ、e イー、i アイ、o オウ、u ユー）で叫びます！
今まで学んできた母音と子音の関係では普通、母音の後に子音があるとその母音は短母音の発音になります。ただ、ここでは最後のeがそれを遮り、母音を長母音へと変身させます。
例えばcakeという単語。a, k(子音), eと並んでいます。 この時、aは長母音の発音エイとなり、eは無音となるので、ケイクと読めます。
このルールが分かると、またさらに読める単語がグンと増えてきます。
文章ではなかなか説明しにくいので、詳しくは子どもたちへ質問してみてください！
木曜日のミュージックレッスンでは、メリーさんの羊をとても上手に演奏することができ、新しい曲『ブン ブン ブン』へと入りました。
リズムも指の動きも少し難しそうですが、是非お家でも弾いてみてください。
