What are practical life activities? These are activities of real-life that help children feel comfortable and interact appropriately and productively with their environment. It develops children’s sense of order, concentration, coordination of movement and control over body, and independence.
実践的な生活活動とは何ですか？ これらは、子供たちが快適に感じ、環境に正しく適応するのに役立つ活動です。子供の秩序感、集中力、体の動作と抑制、調整、そして独立性を発達させます。
In our UOI lesson, we are focusing on teaching them self care activities to be independent and do their roles at school properly with confidence. We started from how to unpack their backpack in the morning, and this week we learned what to do before and after lunch. These include washing their hands, putting their cup in the plastic bag, getting their drink bottle and lunch bag, taking out the apron and chopsticks, sitting nicely, and saying Itadakimasu. Thank you for the food. After lunch, they need to wipe their face, say Gochisousama Deshita. Thank you for the food., put their plate and soup bowl in the container in the hallway, put their apron, chopsticks, and face towel in the plastic bag, put their drink bottle back in the basket, and change their clothes into pajamas.

We had a role-play activity for that lesson. We called each student to show everyone the proper way of doing those things and point out the mistakes that they usually do like running when bringing their plate outside, standing when saying Gochisousamadeshita, and not folding their clothes properly. Everyone did a great job in demonstrating the activity and we hope that they can also do it nicely everyday, and even at home.
このレッスンではロールプレイ活動を行いました。 生徒一人一人に、その正しい方法を演じてもらい、お皿を廊下に片付ける時に走る、ごちそうさまでしたと言うときに立っている、服をきちんと畳んでいないなど、間違った行動をみんなに指摘してもらいました。みんな素晴らしい実演を見せてくれました。私達は子ども達が毎日、自宅でもそれらをやってくれることを願っています。
In line with that lesson, we taught Aurora class how to wash their hands properly, how to fold their clothes, and did buttoning and zipping activities. We watched a video on how to wash hands properly and follow the steps all together. We reminded them to use one push of soap only and don’t play with soap and water. Now, most of them are able to wash their hands properly following what they have learned. They also learned how to fix inside-out clothes and how to fold them properly. From now on, we will encourage them to fold their clothes properly before putting them in the pj bag.
このレッスンに沿って、オーロラのクラスでは、手を正しく洗う方法、服をたたむ方法、ボタンやジッパーの扱い方を教えました。 正しく手を洗い、その正しい手順の全てを確認する教材ビデオを視聴しました。 石鹸ボトルは一押しするだけ、石鹸と水で遊ばないことなどを再確認しました。 今では、ほとんどの子ども達が学んだ通りに適切に手を洗うことができます。 また、裏返しの服を直したり、適切にたたむ方法を学びました。 今後は、服をたたんでからパジャマ袋に入れるように指導してゆきます。
Buttoning and zipping clothes is challenging for kids and we want them to learn it in an interesting way. We prepared cute cloths with buttons like strawberry, pig and monster faces with buttons and asked them to button and unbutton them. We also have a zipping frame which they also tried to zip and unzip the zipper. We will continue to practice these activities for them to improve their skills more and be able to do so in their daily lives especially in the winter season when wearing their jackets.
服のボタン掛けや、ジッパーの開閉は子供にとって難しいものであり、オーロラの子ども達には楽しい方法でそれを学んでもらいたいと思っています。 いちご、豚、モンスターの顔などのボタンが付いたかわいい布を用意し、ボタンを掛けたり、外したりしてもらいました。 また、洋服風のジッパーフレームも用意しました。 今後もこれらの活動を実践し、スキルアップを図り、ジャケットを着る冬を中心に日常生活に活かしていきます。
In Phonics, we focused on the letter Bb as in bell, ball, balloon, banana, book, and boy. They enjoyed watching the letter Bb video and learned the sound of the letter perfectly! Some of them were also able to give examples of words that begin with the /b/ sound such as blue, brown, black, and bear. Great job!👏
フォニックスでは、Bell(ベル)、Ball(ボール)、Baloon(バルーン)、Banana(バナナ)、Book(本)、Boy(男の子)のようにアルファベットのB.bに焦点を当てました。 彼らはアルファベットのB.bに関する教材ビデオを鑑賞し、楽しみながら、アルファベットとその音を学びました！何人かは Blue(青)、Brown(茶色)、Black(黒)、Bear(熊)など、/b/の音で始まる他の単語を見つけることもできました。 よくできました！
Last week, they made a craft related to Mother’s Day. They made a bouquet of flowers for their moms using origami paper. They folded the paper in a flower shape and bouquet wrap. For sure they are very excited to give it to you dear mommies. I hope you like it and Happy Mother’s Day!👩👧👦💞
先週、母の日のクラフトを作りました。折り紙を使ってお母さんのために「花束」を作りました。 紙を花の形に折り、ラッピングしました。 みんな大好きなママにプレゼントできることにとても胸を躍らせています。ママ達に気に入ってもらえることを願っています。
Gym class is always fun for Aurora students. They enjoyed the hula hoop pretend activities like cleaning the floor and driving a bus. They also loved rolling the hula hoop and chasing it as fast as they could. Most of them are good at making the hoop rolling by themselves. Well done everyone!👏
体育の授業はオーロラの生徒にとっていつも楽しいものです。フラフープで床掃除、バスの運転などの動作を真似て楽しみました。フラフープを転がして、早く走って追いかけるのも好きです。自分で輪を回すのも得意です。 みんなよくできたね！
