Imagine there is no transportation now, how are you going to school?park?supermarket? They answered, “I will walk.”, “I will run!”, “I will fly!”. Did you know that there was no transportation before or in the past? We started our UOI lesson with questions like these. When we ask children questions—especially big, open-ended questions—we support their language development and critical thinking.💡
This week in UOI, Aurora class explored the LOI2:Past and Present Transportation. We prepared old/past versions of the transportations such as airplane, boat, car, train, and bus. Then asked students which is considered past or present transportation and posted it on the right column. Since they already have an idea about old and new transportation from last week, students were able to identify them quickly by just looking at the pictures. We even compared them and asked which they prefer to use or ride on. Their thoughts were interesting, few of them still wanted to experience using the old or transportations in the past because they thought it’s cool and faster.

交通手段（乗り物）がないことを想像してみてください。どうやって学校や公園、スーパーマーケットに行くでしょう? 子ども達は「歩く～」「走る！」「飛ぶよ」などと答えました。昔、交通手段（乗り物）がなかったことを知ってるかな？ こんな質問から UOI レッスンをスタートしました。 質問する時、特に広義で自由な回答を求める質問をする時には、子ども達の言語や思考力を補助するようにしています。
今週の UOI で、Aurora クラスは LOI2: 過去と現在の乗り物について探究しました。 飛行機、船、車、電車、バスなどの乗り物の過去と現在のイラストを用意しました。 そして、それらが過去の乗り物か、現在の乗り物かを尋ね、該当する列に並べてもらいました。 子ども達は先週の探求で既に新旧のイメージを持っているので、写真を見るだけですぐに識別することができました。 そしてそれらを比較し、どちらに乗ってみたいか聞いてみました。その答えは興味深いものでした。昔の乗り物に乗ってみたいという子がほとんどいなかったのです。
In Phonics, we did a cut and paste activity to review letters Aa to Hh. Students cut the lowercase letters and paste them in the box that matches the uppercase letters. Most of them did a great job in completing the activity. They also wrote their names by themselves. Well done, everyone!👏👏👏
フォニックスのレッスンでは、A/a から H/h までのアルファベットの復習をするために、切り貼りアクティビティを行いました。 小文字を切り取り、同じアルファベットの大文字横のボックスに貼り付けます。みんな、頑張って完成させました。 名前も自分で書きました。 よく出来ました！
In Music class, they continued to practice playing the “DO” key of the pianica by following the rhythm given by their teacher. Another music pattern they are practicing is DO, RE, DO (10x) followed by DO, RE, DO, RE, DO, RE, DO.🎶
音楽のレッスンでは、先生から教わったリズムに合わせて、ピアニカの「ド」のキーを弾く練習を続けました。 彼らが練習しているもう 1 つのパターンは「ド・レ・ド・レ・ド・レ・ド・レ、ド、レ、ド」 に続いて、「ド、レ、ド、レ、ド、レ、ド」 です。
Now in writing, Aurora has been practicing tracing their names and gradually they have improved in following the order of writing the letters of their name using pencil. They are also trying to write it without tracing.📝
現在、オーロラでは自分の名前をペンでなぞる練習をしており、鉛筆を使って自分の名前を書く力も徐々に上達しています。トレースなしに書こうともしています。
After naptime, our class has time to do some workstation activities. They can enjoy making things using their playdough or trace alphabet using it, trace numbers, letters or names, practice cutting paper, make a pattern using straws, etc.
お昼寝の後、クラスではいくつかのワークステーションで活動する時間があります。 粘土で何かを作ったり、アルファベットや数字や名前のトレーシングをしたり、ハサミで紙を切る練習をしたり、ストローに紐を通す遊びで色のパターン（赤・黒・赤・黒など一定の型）を作ったりして楽しんでいます。
We didn’t have a chance to go to the gym on Wednesday, instead we went to the park. They saw a pile of snow at the park and it was very hard. Some of them got interest in kicking it trying to break and flatten it. They said that they are making a house. Others just had fun sliding, swinging, and running around.😃
水曜日はジムに行く機会がなかったので、代わりに公園に行きました。 公園で雪の山を見つけて大騒ぎでした。山を壊して平らにしようと、雪を蹴ることに興味を持った子、家を作ると言う子もいました。 他にも滑り台や、かけっこを楽しみました。
