The month of February is almost done, which means we are nearing the end of the school year. The Milky Way’s Graduation Day is just around the corner. We are practicing really hard for this special day. For our Music class, we continued preparing for our bell performance. This performance is especially challenging, because it requires the students to focus and pay attention the entire time. The students are getting better in performing their musical piece, because they think of this bell performance as a teamwork challenge that they need to accomplish all together.
2月が終わり、もうすぐ今年度最後の月になりますね。Milky Wayのみんなが卒業を迎える時がすぐそこまで来ています。その特別な日に向け、みんな一生懸命歌や動きを練習しています。ミュージックレッスンでは、引き続きハンドベルの練習をしています。3グループを作り、1曲ずつ交代しながら3回演奏します。この長い演奏の間、姿勢を崩さず集中して演奏をするのはみんなにとって大きなチャレンジです。練習を繰り返し、演奏も待っている姿勢もとても上手になってきています。Milky Wayのみんなが一緒に達成するチームワークチャレンジなので、みんなとても真剣です。
算数のレッスンでは、「数字の家族」について学んでいます。足し算と引き算を学んだ後、この２つのコンセプトを使ってどうやって「数字の家族」を作るかを練習してます。このレッスンで、足し算と引き算はつながり合っているのだと気づくことが出来ました。数字の家族を作ることで、このつながりがはっきりとします。Milky Wayのみんなは、理解がとても早いです！
In Math, we are learning about the Fact Family. After our lesson on addition and subtraction, we combined these two concepts and practiced how to make a fact family. The students realized that addition and subtraction are actually connected with each other. The fact family made it easier for them to see this connection. Since the students have already mastered both addition and subtraction, they understood the concept of fact family quickly. Milky Way kids are really smart and fast learners!
