Peace & Conflict (continued)

Greetings and salutations!

As spring slowly begins to thaw the chill of winter’s quickening, in the Grade 3 classroom we have been continuing with our exploration of Peace and Conflict.

We considered different levels of conflict; personal, local, national and international and realised that actions at each level are different i.e. a family member telling me to eat my greens and a global pandemic can both be considered conflicts, however the response required is different.

We also looked at peace and how it means different things to different people, and this in turn can end up leading to conflicts.

We concluded this week by creating profiles of famous “peacebuilders” i.e. Desmond Tutu, Malala Yousafzai and Tawakkol Karman, amongst others. The students worked with a partner to tell the story of their lives in a poster and presentation format.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and have a nice week.
