Milky Way July 3 – 7

We have moved into Minami Campus!
It’s good to be back because we can see each other everyday. We enjoy spending some time with the other classes and teachers.
For our math lesson, we have started to learn Place Value. We learn it in order to know the meaning of a number and also to understand the order of numbers.
So we started with using blocks of ones, tens, and hundreds. We were all thrilled to use them and put them in order of the place value as written on the whiteboard. Later on the students drew a square of ones, tens and hundreds on their math book. It was challenging for them to use the ruler in a proper way and draw a straight line, but we hope to improve by practicing more!

Thursday was another fun day!
We went to Matsumoto Police Station and learned about the jobs of police officers, their belongings, and got on the police car and bus!! We also watched the officers practicing the techniques of defending, fighting and protecting themselves again the criminals.
It was a wonderful experience overall! I hope for a few boys in Milky Way get more excited and willing to be a police officer in the future!

In the afternoon, we went to Nanbu Park, but it wasn’t the normal playing time there! We had two guest teachers to teach us how to play soccer. Starting from some basic exercise and movement, we gradually got used to handle the ball. In the end, we had a game! Everyone just ran and chased two balls between and even beyond the field(!!) and we all got very happy and excited when some friends made a goal! What a feeling! What a fun experiment!

Friday brought us another outdoor activity; we walked to the park behind Tokyo Interior! We played there for about 40 minutes and walked back to school.

We enjoyed the week of new experiences and outdoor activities!
