みなさん、こんにちは！
今年の夏も猛暑の予感？！まだ6月上旬なのに真夏を思わせる暑い一週間でした。それでもレインボーの子ども達は、こんな暑さも（寒さも）気になりません！大きな笑顔でただただ夢中になって遊びます！
今月のRainbowのトピックは「虫」です。身近でありながら、あえて注目してみると神秘的で不思議がいっぱい。その色、形、大きさ、動き方・・・どんどん興味と愛着が湧いてきます。クラス内では日々、虫の歌を歌い、虫について話し合っています。日本語と英語で名前を覚えることも大切ですが、実際に虫を見つけたり、その存在の珍しさや面白さ、そして何よりもその命の大切さに気付いて欲しいと願っています。今週、クラスでは様々な虫について話し合った後、一人ずつ好きな虫（イラスト）を虫取り網で捕まえて、自分の虫カゴ（虫カゴ風の壁紙）に入れるアクティビティーを行いました。みんな大喜びで取り組みました。そして園庭で見つけた小さな虫(コガネムシかな？）を虫カゴに入れてクラスに持ち帰り、観察した後、再び外に放す活動も行いました。小さな虫も懸命に生きる命です。虫さんもご飯を食べたり、ウンチをしたり、眠ったりするのかな・・・そんな話をして想像する中で、命を尊び、愛おしむ心が育っていると信じています。

Is it going to be a terrible hot summer this year? ! It’s still early June, but it’s been a hot week that reminds us of summer. But the children at Rainbow aren’t bothered by the heat (or cold)! They’re just playing with big smiles on their faces!
This month’s Rainbow topic is “Insects.” They’re all around us, but if we pay attention to them, we’ll find that they’re full of mysteries. Their colors, shapes, sizes, and the way they move… we’ll become more and more interested and attached to them. Every day in Rainbow class, we sing songs about insects and talk about them. It’s important to learn their names in Japanese and English, but we hope that our children will actually find insects, realize how rare and interesting they are, and above all, realize how important their lives are. This week in class, after discussing various insects, we had an activity where each student caught their favorite insect (illustration) with a bug net and put it in their own bug cage (bug cage-style wallpaper). Everyone was very happy to do it. Our children also put small insects they found in the playground into insect cages, brought them back to class, observed them, and then released them outside again. Even small insects have a life that tries hard to live. We believe that by talking about and imagining things like insects, such as eating food, pooping, and sleeping, our children will develop a sense of respect and cherishment for life.
今週のジムレッスンでは、大きな（パラシュート生地）のカラフルなバルーンを使い、みんなで力を合わせて波を起こしたり、上に乗ったり、下に潜ったりする楽しい活動が行われました。ふわふわで大きなバルーンに大興奮のレインボーさん達でした！来週はジムオープンデーが予定されています。子ども達も楽しみにしていますので、多くの皆様のご参加をお待ちしております。
In this week’s gym lesson, we used large (parachute fabric) colorful balloons and had fun working together to make waves, climb on top of them, and dive under them. Our Rainbows were so excited about the big, fluffy balloons! We are planning a gym open day next week. Our children are looking forward to it, so we hope you will all join us.
来たる16日（日）は「父の日」。クラフトで大好きなパパ（ママ）にプレゼントする心のこもった贈り物を作りました。パパ（ママ）への愛情を示すハート型に自分なりの色を塗った後、牛乳パックを細く切ったものを交互に折り曲げ丈夫なバネを作り、その先にハートを貼り付けました。最後に箱に納めてリボンで飾り、素敵なびっくり箱（ラブボックス）が出来上がりました。パパ（ママ）に渡すプレゼントと知り、子ども達が目を輝かせ胸躍らせて制作に取り組む姿は愛情に溢れていました。愛おしいレインボーの子ども達です。
Father’s Day is coming up on the 16th (Sunday). We used crafts to make heartfelt gifts for our beloved dads and moms. After painting a heart shape to show their loves for their dads and moms in their own colors, they folded strips of milk cartons alternately to make a strong spring, then attached a heart to the end. Finally, they put them in a box and decorated it with ribbon, and a wonderful surprise box (love box?!) was completed. When our children found out that it was a present for their dads and moms, their eyes lit up and they got excited as they worked on it, which was truly a sign of love. These are adorable rainbow children.
外遊びでも生きる喜び、楽しさを満喫しています。太陽の下、遊具で遊び、走り、花を摘み、虫を探す、そんな子ども達の姿も素敵です。
They also enjoy the joy and fun of living while playing outdoors. Watch as children play on the playground equipment under the sun, run, pick flowers, and look for bugs.
