Reuse, Use Again is the next focus in our IB inquiry. As the saying goes, One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Children are the most creative in re-imagining new purposes. In our RAZ book, “New Again” we read that “we can make old things into new things like a sock into a puppet and a plastic bottle into a water sprinkler”. Rainforest had better ideas… reuse tissue boxes to make a house, reuse PET bottles to make a shower, and reuse kitchen rolls to make a tent!
次の探究は、リユース（再利用）に焦点をあて活動していきます。ことわざにも、ある人のゴミは別の人の宝であるとありますね。子どもたちは、いらなくなった物から新しい使い道を想像し、創造力がどんどん広がります。RAZの本、”New Again “には、「靴下を人形に、ペットボトルをスプリンクラーにと、古いものを新しいものに変身させることができる」と書かれていました。自分達でも、紙にどんな再利用ができるか絵を描いてみました。ティッシュ箱を再利用して家を作ったり、ペットボトルを再利用してシャワーを作ったり、キッチンロールを再利用してテントを作ったり、いろいろなアイディアが出てきました！
Each student made an Eco-pledge for reduce. The class has been using Think-Pair-Share for brainstorming ideas. Each came up with their own personal goal to reduce use of resources. I, _________ (name) promise to reduce, use less toilet paper and use only what I need. Others promise to switch off lights in bathroom after use, keep doors closed, use less plastic bags.
削減のためのエコ誓約書も書きました。シンクペアシェアで、クラスメートとペアになりアイデアを出し合いました。各自が、資源の使用を減らすための個人的な目標を考えました。私、○○（名前）は、トイレットペーパーを減らし、必要な分だけ使うことを約束します。使用後はトイレの電気を消す。ドアを閉めます。レジ袋の使用量を減らすことを約束します。など、一人ひとり宣言しました。
Rainforest has begun preparing for the Graduation ceremony. They have been practising with handbells to the music of Auld Lang Syne. We have also chosen the very meaningful song Heal the World by Michael Jackson. Thank you dear Parents for joining us for Swim Open Day. Rainforest students were glad to have their mummies and daddies watch their skillful swim strokes!
The week’s highlight was our field trip to Matsumoto Clean Center. We had a pre-field trip discussion in class before the visit. The class had some prior knowledge about the swimming pool nearby – Lala Matsumoto, and that the heated water gets the electricity from the building next door. What else do you want to find out? Rainforest wrote down their wonderings… How do we get electricity? Why do we need to burn the trash? I want to see fire burning the trash. Our findings coming up next week when we have our post field trip discussion. Till Monday, have a fabulous weekend!
卒園式の練習も始まっています。ミュージックレッスンでは、Auld Lang Syneの音楽に合わせてハンドベルを練習しています。また、Heal the Worldという曲を歌う練習も行っています。保護者の皆様、スイミングオープンデーにお越しいただきありがとうございました。子ども達は、レッスンが始まる前は、お家の人が見に来てくれて、いつもより嬉しくて興奮している様子でした。レッスンが終わった後は、お父さんお母さんに泳いでいるところを見てもらい、とても嬉しいと言っていました。
今週のハイライトは松本クリーンセンターの見学でした。見学に行く前にクラスで話し合いを行いました。近くにプールがあることや、温水プールは隣の建物から電気を供給されていることなどについて、すでに知っている子もいました。見学に行ったら、何を調べたいのかを紙に書きました。どうやって電気を得ているんだろう？どうしてゴミを燃やすの？ゴミを燃やす火を見たい。来週は、今日のフィールドトリップの振り返りをします。みんながどんなことを発見し、どんなことを感じたのか聞くのが楽しみです。良い週末をお過しください。
