Hi everyone and welcome back to Aurora’s weekly blog!🤗 It has been another fun and exciting week here in Aurora class. We just resumed the regular school activities which our boys and girls always look forward to.
They missed having UOI lessons, so when I announced to them that we would start on the new UOI lessons, they got very excited. They were like, “I love UOI! Do we have games in UOI?”🤩
Here’s what we’re going to explore about this unit:
Unit 4: Where we are in Place and Time
Central Idea: Forms of transportation changes over time
Lines of Inquiry:
LOI1: Types of Transportation (Form)
LOI2: Past and Present Transportation (Change)
To assess students’ vocabulary and understanding about transportation we did some activities. First, they identified the pictures I gave them as ANIMAL, TEACHER, FEELING, or TRANSPORTATION. Everyone did a great job in this activity and learned the new vocabulary which is TRANSPORTATION. To know how far their transportation vocabulary is, I showed some pictures of transportation and asked them what it is called. Most of the students knew basic transportations such as car, bus, airplane, train, bicycle, boat, and truck, and were able to think and give examples of transportation.👏👏👏

しばらくUOI のレッスンがなかったので、新しい UOI のレッスンを開始すると発表したとき、みんなとっても喜びました。 彼らは、「私はUOIが大好き！UOIでゲームやるの？」などと言っていました。
今回のユニットでは、次のことを探究します。

乗り物に関する語彙と理解度を評価するために、いくつかのアクティビティを行いました。 最初に、配られた写真を”動物””教師””感情”または”乗り物”に区分しました。 誰もがよくでき、Transportation（乗り物）という新しい語彙を学びました。 彼らの乗り物の語彙がどれくらいあるかを知るために、乗り物の写真をいくつか見せて、それらの名称を尋ねました。 ほとんどの子は、車、バス、飛行機、電車、自転車、船、トラックなどの基本的な交通手段を知っており、考えたり、例を挙げたりすることができました。
Another activity that we did was searching for transportation on the books. I asked them to get a book and look for transportations. They were so delighted when they found an airplane, car, hot air balloon, boat, truck, excavator, crane, and train on the book. They said, “Look, I found _______.” “I can see transportation.”
私たちが行ったもう1つの活動は、本の中に乗り物を探すことでした。 本を手に乗り物を探すように頼みました。 飛行機、車、熱気球、ボート、トラック、掘削機、クレーン、電車が本に載っているのを見つけたとき、とても喜んでいました。 彼らは、「ほら、〇〇〇を見つけたよ！」「乗り物があるよ！」と言いいました。
The next day, we started on our LOI1: Types of Transportation. I asked them while showing a picture, “Where do you see this transportation?” They began thinking about it and shared their ideas. They got the correct answers for airplane (SKY) and boat (SEA). Their answers for the car are very interesting. Though they couldn’t say the right word for it, their ideas are great and very close to the word LAND. Wonderful answers!⭐
翌日、LOI1: 輸送の種類の探求を開始しました。 写真を見せながら「この乗り物はどこで見えますか？」と尋ねました。 彼らは考え始め、自分達の考えをみんなと共有しました。 飛行機（SKY）と船（SEA）は正解でした。 車に対する彼らの答えは非常に興味深いものでした。「床・・」 うまく言葉にできませんが、彼らのアイデアは素晴らしく、LANDという言葉にとても近いものです。 素晴らしい答えです!
For the transportation mural activity, students picked their group as land, sky, and sea. After imagining what land, sky, and sea look like, we asked them to make their own painting of those three types of transportation.
交通壁画活動では、陸、空、海からグループを選びました。 陸、空、海をイメージした上で、3つを自分で描いてもらいました。
Learning about transportation continues outside the classroom. When we were on our way to the park, students saw lots of different transportation on the road. They named them and did a never ending counting of cars. At the park, someone suddenly said “I can see airplane in the sky!”✈ There are so many cars over there!”🚘
乗り物についての学習は、教室の外でも続けられます。 私たちが公園に向かう途中、生徒たちは道路上でさまざまな交通手段を目にしました。 彼らはそれらに名前を付け、終わりなく車を数えました。 公園では「空に飛行機が見えた！」「 あそこに車がいっぱい！」と言い出したりしました。
This week, Aurora class also started to practice tracing their names in uppercase letters. We are using a name tracing mat which they can trace using erasable markers. They will be doing this after naptime and during our workstation time.📝
今週、自分の名前を大文字でなぞる練習を始めました。 消せるマーカーでなぞれるお名前トレーシングマットを使用しています。 彼らは、昼寝の後とワークステーションの時間にこれを行います.
