We had another week of culture talk at school. This time, we focused on clothing. After reading the book, “What We Wear” we then made our own paper dolls. We were able to see what other children wear in different parts of the world. Others wear just one color but others would wear the rainbow!
今週もG1クラスでは、文化について話し合いました。今回は、衣服に焦点を当て、❛What We Wear’という本を読んだ後、自分たちで紙人形を作りました。世界のさまざまな地域で、他の子どもたちがどんな服を着ているのかを見ることができました。一色しか着ない子もいれば、虹色の服を着ている子もいます。
Aside from making our paper doll, we also made dresses for the dolls. Here are some of the dolls we made in class.

We ended the week with another guest speaker. This time it was our Grade 3 teacher, Mr. Thapelo. He shared about South African clothing. We learned about why his country was called a rainbow nation. He showed us different pictures of clothing from various ethnic groups. We also learned his language.
この週の終わりには、またゲストスピーカーに登場してもらいました。今回は3年生の担任、タペロ先生が南アフリカの服について話してくれました。なぜ南アフリカが「虹の国」と呼ばれているのかを学びました。様々な民族の服の写真を見せてくれ、また、南アフリカの言語についても学ぶことができました。
