Caring: We are kind! This learner profile is not new for Aurora because we have been already using this word in our class even before. To have more knowledge about it, we watch a video where in a group of friends went to the park to play together and one of them has a new toy which made another boy sad because he wished to have the same toy but he can’t have it. But his friends were very caring to ask him what’s happening and that he can have a turn and experience playing with it because his friend is willing to share it with him. Aurora realized that sometimes they don’t share toys to their friends and promise to be caring by sharing their toys. During playtime, they keep telling me that they shared toys with their friends! Well done!👏
Careing(思いやり)：思いやりのある人！ クラス内ではこの単語（学習者像）を既に使っているため、Auroraの子ども達にとって新しいものではありません。クラスでは、これをもっと知るために教材ビデオを鑑賞をしました。一緒に遊ぼうと公園に行く子供達、その中の一人が新しいおもちゃを持っています。そしてそれは、同じおもちゃが欲しけれど持っていない別の男の子を悲しませます（羨ましくなります）。 でも、周りの友達にはとても思いやりがありました。おもちゃを持っている子に、一緒に遊ばばせてと頼んだのです。みんなで順番におもちゃを使えたら、悲しんでいる男の子もこのおもちゃで遊ぶ体験ができるはずと・・。 オーロラの子ども達は、自分達が時々おもちゃを共有しないことがあることに気づき、これからは、譲り合うことでお友達を思いやることを約束してくれました。 遊びの時間には、お友達とおもちゃを共有しているよ！と教えてくれます。素晴らしいです！
Aurora class started the new Unit of Inquiry which is Unit 2: Sharing the Planet. Our Central Idea is People and animals help each other to live. We have three Lines of Inquiry: LOI1: Types of Animals: Zoo, Sea, Farm; LOI2: The ways to help animals; LOI3: The ways animals help us. To briefly understand the meaning of Sharing the Planet, I used three pictures that represent the theme such as earth, people, and animals and put them together to symbolize the meaning of the theme. They were able to name those pictures which is good because those are beneficial vocabulary that we’ll be using in this unit.
オーロラクラスではユニット2として「惑星の共有」という新しいテーマ学習をスタートさせました。 このテーマの中心的な考え方は、人と動物が互いに助け合って生きることです。 探求のプロセスは3つあります。LOI-1：動物の種類：動物園、海、農場。 LOI-2：動物を助ける方法。 LOI-3：動物はどうやって私達を助けてくれているか。 地球を共有することの意味を簡単に理解するために、「地球」「人」「動物」などのテーマを表す3つの写真を準備し、これを組み合わせながら、このテーマの意味に着目しました。 これらは、この単元で多用する重要な語彙で、子ども達はそれぞれの写真の意味する単語を正しく言うことができました。
For the prior knowledge assessment, we played What animal is in the mystery box? For each animal, we asked two students to take the picture from the box and decide together where this animal lives. Does it live in the zoo, sea, or farm? Everyone did a great job in this activity. They were able to name most of the animals and put them in the right habitat!👏
子ども達の既知情報の確認のために、「 What animal is in the mystery box? （箱にはどんな動物が入っているかな？）」というゲームをしました。 子ども達は2人1組で箱の中から1枚の写真を選び、私達はその動物がどこに住んでいるかを尋ねました。 動物園（陸上野生動物）、海、または農場の内、どこに住んでいるかな？ 全員がよく出来ました！子ども達は、ほとんどの動物の名前を言うことができ、正しい生息地に（写真を）置くことができました！
Another activity we did was the Gesture game activity to learn about the Zoo animals. First, we watched a dance and freeze video showing animal movements and started the game. Aurora students were able to guess the animal movements quickly and showed the movements perfectly. They really love imitating animal actions or movements and this is not new to them because even before we have been dancing animal actions already and they can tell which animal is their favorite!🤩
私たちが行ったもう1つのアクティビティは、動物園の動物について学ぶためのジェスチャゲームでした。 まず、動物の動きを表すダンス（動）＆フリーズ（静）のビデオを見てからゲームをスタートしました。 子ども達は動物の動きを素早く推測し、完璧に動いて見せてくれました。 彼らは既に動物の動きを真似ることが大好きで、新しいことではありませんでした。私達が動物ジェスチャーを見せる前から、もう子ども達はどの動物が好きかを教えてくれるのですから！
In phonics, we learned about the letter Hh as in hammer, horse, house, hat, helicopter, hands, and heart. We watched a video and played a letter Hh basketball game. They were only allowed to shoot the ball with the uppercase or lowercase Hh.🏀
フォニックスでは、 hammer（ハンマー）, horse（馬）, house（家）, hat (帽子）, helicopter（ヘリコプター）, hands（手）, heart（ハート）のようなH・hという文字について学びました。H・ｈの教材ビデオを見た後、バスケットボールゲームをしました。 バスケットゴールに投げ入れることができるのは、 大文字のHまたは小文字hの書かれたボールだけです。
Our class also made a craft perfect for the summer season and everybody loves it! We made a Paper Mosaic Ice Cream Cone! This craft is also a good practice for scissor cutting skills. They choose the flavors they want according to the color of the paper, cut the colored paper into small pieces, and paste them on the ice cream shape. They also drew some lines to decorate the cone.🍦👏
夏にぴったり！みんなの大好きなアイスクリームをクラフトで作りました！ このクラフトは、ハサミ使いの能力向上にも適しています。 紙の色に合わせてフレーバーを選び、色紙を細かく切ってアイスクリームの形に（糊で）貼り付けます。 コーン部分には、いくつかの線を引きました。
On Wednesday, we had our Gym Open Day!😍 Thank you so much dear parents for joining us in our gym activities!🙇♀️ That was an awesome bonding moments with your children and they had so much fun!🥰
水曜日はジムオープンデーでした！私たちのジム活動に参加して下さった保護者の皆様に感謝いたします。それは、皆様と子ども達の素晴らしい絆の瞬間であり、子ども達はとても楽しんでいました！
June and July goals for nutrition are to enjoy eating with proper posture, try to hold their plate, eat cleanly, and try to hold chopsticks correctly especially for those who are already using the regular chopsticks. Before eating lunch, we always remind the students of those goals and we show them the Japanese Food Etiquette posters on the board so that they can always see it and serve as their guide while eating. We would be glad if our students could do the same at home, so please let’s help our children to practice those goals during your mealtimes. Thank you so much for your cooperation!🙇♀️
6月と7月の食育目標は、適切な姿勢で食事を楽しむこと、お皿を持ってきれいに食べること、そして箸を正しく持つことです。 ランチ前には常にこれらの目標を子ども達に思い出してもらい、食事をしている間も、指標として役立つよう、ホワイトボードに食事のエチケットポスターを貼っています。お家でも同じことができたら嬉しいので、食事の時間には子供たちがこうした目標を実践できるよう、手助けしてあげて下さい。 ご協力をよろしくお願いします！
