It was a fun and exciting first week for the Milky Way students in their new campus! After graduating from the Shooting Star class, they are now ready to conquer the Shimauchi campus! So first in our Shimauchi campus bucket list is a school tour. We explored the campus and visited the classrooms of the elementary students. Day by day the Milky Way students get more and more familiar and comfortable at Shimauchi campus.
Milky Wayのお友達にとって初めての島内キャンパスでの生活が始まり、楽しくワクワクした1週間を過ごしました！Shooting Starクラスを卒業し、いよいよ島内キャンパスデビュー！！登園初日、まずは島内キャンパスのツアーを行い、小学部のお兄さん、お姉さんの教室や図書館を見て周りました。日に日に、島内キャンパスでの生活に慣れている様子が見られます。
Since this is also the beginning of the school year for the new Milky Way students, we also decided on the rules that we should have in the classroom. After reading the book David Goes to School, we had a sorting activity wherein we identified which actions are good choices and poor choices. From this activity, we were able to set the Milky Way’s Essential Agreements! We put our thumb marks on it as a reminder that we will always follow these rules in the classroom.
今年度の始まりに合わせ、教室でのお約束をみんなで決めました。 「David Goes to School 」という本を読んだ後、絵カードを使ってどのような行動が「良い行動」か、それとも「するべきでない行動」かを分けました。そしてみんなでMilky Way独自の「守るべき契約書」を作りました。この契約を守れるように、みんなで親指のマークを付けてサインをしました。
We also made a rocket ship craft for our art folders, which we have enjoyed a lot. This activity is a practice of their fine-motor and listening skills. They were all so focused during the task, that’s why their artworks all turned out amazingly. They were all so proud and happy about their work.
自分たちの作品を持ち帰るArt Folderを作成するため、ロケットのクラフトをしました。この活動は手先の器用さを身に着けるためと、先生のお話をよく聞く力を付けるために行いました。みんな集中して先生の話を聞けていて、とても上手にロケットを作り上げることが出来ました！自分の作ったロケットにみんな大満足です。
Lastly, we performed a song and dance number for our new classmates! We welcomed them with open arms and all the Milky Way students were so happy to have gained new friends.
今週から、Milky Wayクラスに新しいお友達が2名仲間入りしました！2人のお友達を迎えるため、みんなで歌とダンスを踊りました。新しい仲間が増えて、みんなとってもうれしそうです。
金曜日は公園に歩いて行きました。スクールを出る前に、「桜の花」と「梅の花」と「桃の花」の違いをお話しました。花びらを見て、They are cherry blossoms!などと話をしながら歩きました。長い道のりでしたが、お花を見たり、川にいるカモを見たりと、春を感じる心地よいお散歩になりました。
This is just the start of an exciting school year for the Milky Way kids. We can’t wait to learn and have fun at Shimaushi Campus!
