Shooting Star and Savanna have been working hard making lots of stories. We’ve made characters this week since they have been learning about how there are many parts to a story. It’s not just drawing and making things but knowing how to make what they did into a story.
サバンナ、シューティング両クラス共、今週は沢山のお話しを考えてきました。物語の中には、お話しを構成している色々な部分があることを学び、登場人物のパーソナリティについて考え、作りました。ただ単に絵を描いて作るだけでは無く、作り方を知ることにフォーカスしました。
The students focused on the different characteristics of characters this time. For this, the students learned more about learner profiles. These are characteristics that the IB curriculum focuses on during the school year. For this unit we are teaching about being communicators, open-minded and being knowledgeable. There are many more with a total of ten that they could choose from for their characters. Instead of saying bad guy or good guy, the students used profile language to describe the characters they made.
子供達は登場人物の性格について考えるため、私達が掲げているlearner profile について再度確認し合いました。現在のユニットでは、communicators(コミュニケーションの取れる人), open-minded (広い視野を持つ人),being knowledgeable(知識を持つ人)の3点に焦点を当てています。今回はこの3点ですが、全部で１０あり、物語の登場人物の性格を子供達はこの10ある中からいくつかを選択し、考えました。単純に”悪い人、良い人”と言うのではなく、IB learner profile に使用されている言葉を使い、表現しました。
