“Using Kind Words Create Calmness”

Hello Everyone,

Aurora is here again with our week of fun learning activities.

👉 Unit of Inquiry

We continued with our second line of inquiry, Ways to communicate with others. This time, we talked about kind words versus hurt words. Aurora students were challenged to share their ideas of some kind words and hurt words that are usually uttered in class. They shared their ideas like, Please, Thank you, I’m sorry, Excuse me and You’re welcome for kind words and hurt words like, I’m not gonna share with you, I don’t like you, Go away, and You cannot play with me. Aurora’s ideas were sensible. They are very much aware which words make their friends cry and which words make them smile. Then we watched the video entitled, Story Of Magical Words. Here, we learn about using kind words to people around us. We learned to become more balanced by not only looking after ourselves, but after others as well.

👉 Craft

It’s time for craft. We made an Autumn Tree using yellow, green, orange and red paint with our fingers to make autumn leaves. Aurora class had so much fun by painting some leaves on the tree’s branches and have tried their best writing their name on it. Well done, Aurora.

👉 Outside Play

We walked to the park by twos in the line remembering the rules for walking. We got better and faster this time. We didn’t only play at the park structures, but we also played, What time is it, Mr. Wolf? Wolf shouts out a time between 1 and 12 o’clock. The number he shouts is the number of steps Aurora students take toward him. Once we get close to Mr. Wolf, he shouts LUNCH TIME! and chases us back to the start line. We had so much fun!

Have a safe and wonderful weekend everyone.
