This week during UOI we introduced what roles are. First we started with a game to get them to think about teamwork. There was yarn tied to a binder ring and the students had to lift the ball together without letting it fall. They were not able to do it which was expected. later the teachers tried and were able to life the ball. We talked about why they couldn’t do it and we could which helped them get an idea that teamwork is needed. Our central idea is “working together makes it easier for people to achieve a goal”. It was a fun introduction to the unit.
今週のUOIでは私達の「役割」について紹介をしました。
まず「チームワーク」とは何かについて考える為のチャレンジを行いました！
一人一本リングに結ばれた毛糸を持ちながら、中心に置いたボールを落とさない様に持ち上げてみました。予想通りボールを持ち上げる事は出来ませんでした。次に、Ms.CourtneyとMs.Miyuが同じチャレンジをしましたが、ボールを持ち上げる事に成功しました！
先生達は持ち上げる事が出来たのに、なぜみんなはボールを持ち上げる事が出来なかったのか話し合い、みんなで共通の目標を達成する為にはチームワークが必要であるという事に気が付きました✨
今回のユニットのセントラルアイディアは
“working together makes it easier for people to achieve a goal”.
（協力し合う事で目標達成がしやすくなる。）
です！今回のユニットについて紹介する為の楽しいチャレンジとなりました！
Then we discussed their roles at home and school. They drew pictures of what their roles are after our discussion. The next day we asked the question, “What is community?”. They had some great ideas and some interesting ones like; thing, talking, group of people, tree, clean up, wash your hands, clean your body, and country. After defining what community is the students moved on to what places are in a community and the people that are in them. Later in the week we made a Milky Way community map and played a game to learn more about the places and people in the community.
そして、私達のスクールでの役割と家庭での役割について話し合いをし、それを絵に描きました！
次の日、ミルキーウェイの友達に”Community”とは何か質問をしました。
素晴らしいアイディアが飛び交い、中には「人のグループ」「物」「木」「掃除」「手や体を洗う（銭湯）」「国」など興味深い意見もたくさん出ました✨
“Community”の定義を説明した後、私達のコミュニティーにはどんな場所があり、どんな人が働いているのかについて学びました！
週の後半は”Milky Way Community Map”を作成したり、ゲームをしてさらに詳しく学びました✨
The Star Festival was this week so the students made a craft related to the holiday. They got to use their creativity and had fun painting the kimonos. The students also got to write their wishes on a piece of paper to hang on the tree in the entrance of the school. It was wonderful to see all their hopes and dreams.
今週は七夕のクラフトも行いました！
コーヒーフィルターに絵の具で模様をつけてとてもクリエイティブな着物が完成しました✨
また、短冊に願い事を書いてエントランスの笹の木に飾りました！
