Happy Heart's Day (Milky Way)

This week is very special for the Milky Way class because we get to make Valentine’s cards for our loved ones. The students enjoyed using different craft materials to make a special card for their parents. They were all so focused during the task and they also tried their best to spell the words for their message correctly. It is amazing to see them express their love and feelings in this manner. This is perhaps one of their sweetest gestures and I hope that you liked what they have made for you.

In Phonics, we continued our lesson about the past tense of verbs. The students already learned that we can just add -d or -ed at the end of some verbs for it to be past tense. Some verbs, though, does not work this way, and we call these words irregular verbs.

This week we started our lesson on irregular verbs. The kids got so fascinated with how some irregular words turn out when they become past tense. They were surprised to learn that the past tense of the word run is ran, the past tense of take is took, and the past tense of read is also spelled read but it is pronounced in a different way. I think they are going to enjoy learning a lot of new words in this lesson. This topic is also helpful in broadening their vocabulary.

Thank you for keeping up with the Milky Way kids. Until next time!
