This week we learnt the letter “t” in phonics and writing. On Thursday we had a good time in the park. It was a nice and sunny hot day. We are preparing some home furniture to facilitate a role play activity where we will each pretend to be a family member. We are also paying more attention to showing empathy to other people and things.
As for reading, we finished with our book “Sam and the Sap” this week. So on Friday we will receive our new book titled “A Tap and a Pat”. For next week until Friday the 15th we have to bring “A Tap and a Pat” to school (where we will read it once every day) as well as read it at home. All the older books can be kept at home and read as review. When reading the books it is suggested to sound out each letter first and then read the 3 letter word by quickly sounding out the letters. Sometimes covering the picture is helpful as then students can not rely on memory and interpretation from the picture to read the sentences.

今週のIBレッスンでは「お家ごっこ」をするための家具作りをしました。グループに分かれて、テレビや洗濯機、お風呂を協力し合いながら作りました！来週はお父さんやお母さん、お姉ちゃんなど家族の一員になりきってお家ごっこを楽しむ予定です♪
フォニックスではリーディングが進んでいます！お家でご一緒にリーディングする際のポイントを少しご紹介します。
・英語の文字を一つ一つ指で追い、音を確認してから単語を読むようにする。
・暗記をしてしまっているようだったら、絵を隠して読んでみるようにする。
１週間ごと新しい本に移り変わります。今までの本はご家庭で保管していただき、時間がある時に一緒に読んでみて下さい。
