Since the temperature was too low to have pool play, we resumed our park run at the big park this week. After a long summer of water and mud play, it was nice to be back at the park. The children all had fun running, climbing, swinging, hanging and strengthening their muscles and inner cores.They also thought about where they could find insects and minibeasts, and went on a bug hunt. We found some roly polies under the rocks since the children remembered they like to hide under the rocks.We are so glad to hear them putting what they have learned to practice!
気温が少し下がり、園庭プールを諦め、久しぶりの公園へ行きました！夏いっぱい水遊びと泥遊びを楽しんだ後の公園遊びはとても楽しい物でした。公園いっぱい走り回ったり、遊具で遊んだり、ブランコや滑り台でも楽しみました。そしてみんなは今探究している昆虫達はどんなところで見つけることができるかを考え、大きな石や葉っぱの下を覗いてみたりしました。すると、思っていた通り、石の下にはダンゴムシがいました！今まで学んできたことを日常生活で応用できている姿を見ることができて本当に嬉しいです💖
This week in UOI we have moved on to LOI 3 where the children were challenged to think about what are our responsibilities towards living creatures. We asked some thought provoking questions, such as, what would happen if the minibeasts lose their homes? What would happen if all the trees and flowers were gone? How would the absence of minibeasts affect us and others in the ecosystem? The children had a great time reflecting on what they have learned and building on their knowledge they were able to come up with some deeper thoughts. They thought of ways they can help to protect the minibeasts by creating habitats, or educating others by sharing what they have learned.
今週のUOIでは、このユニット最後のLOI「私たちの周りの生き物に対しての私たちの責任」について学び始めました。以下のような質問をして子ども達の考えを聞き出しました。「ミニビーストのお家がなくなってしまったらどうなる？」「もし木や花が全てなくなってしまったら？」「ミニビーストがいなくなってしまったら、私たちやエコシステムにどんな影響があるかな？」
子どもたちは、学んだことを振り返り、知識を積み上げて、より深い考えを思いつくことができ、とても楽しい時間を過ごすことができました。子ども達は、ミニビーストのための生息地を作ったり、自分達が学んだことを他の人に教えてあげたりすることで、ミニビーストを保護するのに役立つ方法を話し合いました。
We introduced a minibeast matching game and the minibeasts bingo game, the children love playing with it during free choice time.
レッスンではミニビーストのマッチングゲームや、ビンゴゲームを紹介しました。みんなとっても楽しんでいたので、フリープレーの時間にも遊べるようにしました！
In the block area we added some large blocks where children can use it to build habitats for insects or dinosaurs. The children loved using it for dramatic play as well.
ブロックエリアには、新しい手作りブロックを追加しました。先生達がティッシュボックスで作ったカラフルなブロックで恐竜や昆虫のお家を作ったりする遊びを紹介しました。ごっこ遊びをするのにも使えることを学びました。
This week we also bid farewell to another of our friends. We will miss her and wish her all the best at her new school.

In phonic lessons we continued to learn the word family and used the various letters to build words. This week we built words such as mad, sad,pad, and bad for the “ad” family.
フォニックスレッスンではいろいろなアルファベットを使って単語のファミリーについて学びました。今週は「adファミリー」で、md, sad, pad, badなどの単語を学びました！
We love making crafts and thinking of ideas of what to play outside. We are critical thinkers and risk takers!
