Aurora/Canyon Feb.5-9

This week we have been having lots of fun with habitats! We have been learning about four different habitats. Desert, forest, farm, and ocean. This week the students worked in groups of three to make their own habitat as a table. This helped the students not only to learn about the habitats, but also learn about cooperation. They all did a great job working together.
In music this week the students learned mi on the pianica. They have been doing well learning do and re. We also did a fun music game with partners. The students played patty-cake along with the music. The students really enjoyed this.
In gym class the students made a tunnel with their hands in pairs while the other students were the train. The train had to go through the tunnel like last week but instead of going in a circle, the students had to face the other way to go back through the tunnel. Again, this focused on cooperation which is one of the PYP attitudes we’re learning this unit.
Thursday we walked to the park and had a fun time there. The students love running around and getting their energy out. This is always a fun time for all of us.
Friday we will continue to learn about habitats and how we should take care of them. This will help encourage caring and appreciation towards animals and their habitats.
We hope everyone has a great weekend and stays healthy!
