There is so much to celebrate, the more we learn about other cultures’ celebrations! This week we continued to study some of the other major celebrations in the world. We reviewed about Diwali from India, and heard from Mr. Igor of how Croatia celebrates Easter. The children made egg dye as one of the symbols of Easter. They heard about how the families in Croatia give the decorated eggs to their families and relatives as a gift. As part of the tradition, the families would have an egg fight to see whose egg is the strongest! What an interesting way to celebrate this special occasion.
今週も引き続き、世界の主要なお祝いについて学びました。インドのディワリについて復習し、イゴール先生からクロアチアのイースターのお祝い方について聞きました。子どもたちは、イースターのシンボルであるゆで卵を使ったイースターエッグを作りました。また、クロアチアの家庭では、装飾した卵を家族や親戚にプレゼントするそうです。その際には、誰の卵が一番強いかを競うエッグファイトも行われます。この特別な日を祝う方法として、とても興味深いものでした。
The children helped make more Christmas ornaments to hang on the Christmas tree. They made Filipino Parlors (the star-shaped ornaments), as well as, decorated the Christmas show props. What a group of great helpers we have in class!
子どもたちは、クリスマスツリーに飾るオーナメントを作るのを手伝ってくれました。フィリピンのパーラー（星型のオーナメント）を作ってクリスマスツリーに飾りました。クリスマスショーの小道具、大道具づくりも頑張っていました。レインフォレストには素晴らしいヘルパーが沢山居て嬉しいです。
This week we returned to our usual run at the large park with the Canyon class. As always children love challenging themselves by climbing higher on the jungle gym or going further on the monkey bars. Others just enjoy chasing each other on the playground, whatever the activity maybe, they just love being active in this crisp autumn weather.
今週はいつものようにCanyonクラスと一緒に大きな公園で遊びました。いつものように、子どもたちはジャングルジムでより高いところに登ったり、わたり棒でより遠くまで行ったりと、自分自身に挑戦することが大好きです。また、運動場で追いかけっこをして楽しむ子もいて、どんなことをしていても、この秋の爽やかな気候の中で活動することが大好きです。
In phonics children learned to point out missing words or noticing ending blends. They had a giggle when they read the nonsense words in the sentences, and worked together to figure out what the correct sentences should be. What a great job stirring up those brain juice, scholars!
フォニックスでは、綴りが欠けている単語を指摘したり、語尾の音の組み合わせに気づいたりすることを学びました。文章の中の意味の通らない単語を読んで、正しい文章は何かを一緒に考えて、笑いを誘っていました。勉強家のみなさん、お疲れ様でした。
